Located at the intersection of Mount Hope Highway and Cochran Road in Eaton County. There was a tragic car accident on Thursday evening. Where a mother and her two children were killed and I spoke to a devastated neighbor who lives near the crime scene.

“I immediately ran and tried to do what I could,” said Eaton County neighbor Liz Collins.

Eaton County neighbor Liz Collins says she and her husband saw the accident and called 911.

According to the Eaton County Sheriff's Office, the accident occurred Thursday evening around 8 p.m. When a westbound van failed to stop at a stop sign and entered the road where a semi-truck struck the van.

According to deputies, a third child was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Liz keeps the survivors in her prayers.

“I just can’t imagine what the eldest daughter is going through. I’m thankful she still has her dad,” said Eaton County neighbor Liz Collins.

The Eaton County Sheriff's Office Accident Investigation Team is investigating the accident.
