GREEN RIVER A semi-accident Saturday morning blocked the two eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 near the Green River Tunnels, causing a traffic jam that has since been cleared.

According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, crews will work throughout the day to unload the truck's load of Costco products, but no additional closures are expected related to the accident. The truck was pulled to the side of the road to clear the eastbound lanes for travel. The biggest delay was caused by a heavy duty tow truck being on site to move the truck. Officers attempted to divert traffic onto nearby highways while emergency crews worked to move the truck.

The WHP said police are still investigating the accident but attributed the cause to either inattention or driver distraction. The truck left the road and into the cable barriers, where the driver then overcorrected and caused the truck to roll onto the driver's side. The driver suffered minor injuries and refused transport to Sweetwater County Memorial Hospital. The passenger of the truck was in the bunk during the accident and was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
