Brito showed his trademark aggressiveness, pushing forward like a bull in a China store and using his physicality and heavy shots to often support Gomis behind the tram tracks. He also largely prevailed in the grappling interactions, but as the fight progressed, Gomis managed to land a little more effectively, especially in the third round, where he continued to target kicks to the body and land solid counters to the advancing Brito.

When the scorecards were collected and tallied, it was Gomis who emerged as the split decision winner, extending his record in the UFC to 4-0 and his win streak to a total of a dozen. The MMA Factory representative continues to advance his progress in the featherweight division and should qualify for another step up in competition after this one.
