Luke Fickell praises Braedyn Locke after hot start against USC

The Wisconsin Badger took advantage of a critical turnover on a special teams team USC Trojans in the first half on Saturday. The Badgers took a 21-10 halftime lead over the 13th-ranked Trojans. Just before heading to the locker room, Wisconsin head coach Luke Fickell spoke to CBS sideline reporter Jenny Dell about quarterback Braedyn LockeAbility to take control of the Badgers offense.

“I told you. He has this offense under control. Last week was a good week, but the four games last year were really good. He can do anything we want him to do. Maybe a little different,” explained Fickell Dell

Fickell was also pleased with his defensive line, but also knows there is still more football to be played.

“It’s a four-quarter game. We really have to do it. You have too many yards. Too many mistakes on our part. We have to stay afterwards. “This game is going to be a great four-quarter game,” Fickell finished.

The Badgers defensive line was in the backfield for most of the first half, forcing Trojans quarterback Miller Moss to evade defenders in the backfield and move into the pocket on several occasions.

Former USC defensive coordinator Alex Grinch is now the safeties coach for Wisconsin. And the Badgers took advantage of three Trojans turnovers in the first half. Wisconsin running back Tawee Walker had two rushing touchdowns in the first half. He now has three career games with two or more touchdowns (his first with Wisconsin).

USC is currently 2-1 in the 2024 season, the same record as Wisconsin. It should be a very entertaining second half in Los Angeles.
