Five reasons to attend our Fan Appreciation Night game on Saturday

As the Seattle Sounders head toward the 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs, every single game becomes more important. It's no different in the Western Conference's clash with postseason contenders the Houston Dynamo on Saturday evening.

With only four games left in the regular season, it will only be about the playoff spots in the highly competitive Western Conference standings. Seattle enters the weekend sixth in the West, just three points behind third-place Colorado Rapids and one point behind Houston. The recipe for Saturday is pretty simple: The Sounders can clinch a spot in the postseason with a win over the Dynamo. With 11 goals from their final five games of the regular season, the Rave Green's attack is back in form heading into the final stretch, but they will need to capitalize on the energy at Lumen Field to secure three points on Saturday night.

As head coach Brian Schmetzer often says, this club is the connection between the players and the fans. On Saturday evening we celebrate this eternal bond with our annual Fan Appreciation Night match. Arrive early to meet the players in the hall before the game to take photos and sign autographs. Players and staff will also distribute carnations – a time-honored tradition dating back to our inaugural season in 1974 – as a thank you for your support throughout the 2024 season. There will also be a special pre-game presentation highlighting our favorite fan moments season highlights. Before the game and at halftime, we will announce unique giveaway prizes for fans.

One of the most famous Sounders in the club's history, Román Torres, will be honored as a “Legend of the Game born in 1974.” The dominant defender scored the winning penalty in the club's first MLS Cup title in 2016 and was a cornerstone as the team won its second star at Lumen Field three years later. Torres will be available for a Soccer Celebration meeting before the game, where fans can take photos and get autographs.
