Man accused of killing his grandmother with a hammer

At 11:41 a.m. Saturday, 911 dispatchers received a 911 call for a medical emergency at 44 North Peak Drive in Easton.

State police found Cynthia Lanchester, 76, dead on the ground from an apparent blunt force injury.

State police also encountered Ms. Lanchester's grandson, Joshua Lanchester, 23.

Tonight Joshua Lanchester was arrested and charged with second degree murder for recklessly causing the death of Cynthia Lanchester with a deadly weapon, a hammer.

Mr. Lanchester is currently being held without bail and an arraignment is expected to take place on Monday, September 30th in the 2nd District Court – District Division in Littleton. An autopsy is also scheduled to take place on Sunday.
