Valley View student accused of threatening school

Another student in northeast Arkansas is accused of making threats toward a school. The unidentified juvenile was taken into the custody of Jonesboro police on Friday.

According to a Valley View School District Facebook post, three students reported to administration around 2 a.m. Friday afternoon that a Valley View Middle School student had made a threatening statement nearly an hour and a half earlier. The student allegedly said he wanted to shoot up the school.

Campus administration and school resource officers launched an investigation and it was determined that the student allegedly made the threat like the defendant. Officers reported the incident to the Jonesboro Criminal Investigation Division and the student was taken to the Police Department for further investigation.
