A two-car crash on Maricopa's main highway this morning that left a Hyundai in the bushes was likely caused by a driver's failure to yield, according to police.

According to the Phoenix Regional Dispatch Center, Maricopa police, fire and rescue crews responded to the crash at North John Wayne Parkway and Edison Road around 1:15 a.m.

A holographic Dodge Charger was disabled in the southbound lanes of John Wayne Parkway at the intersection with heavy front-end damage. A red Hyundai Elantra, whose passenger side was badly damaged, left the road in the bushes southwest of the intersection. Airbags were deployed in both vehicles.

Police do not believe the impairment was a factor and that it was caused by a driver who failed to yield, Cpl. Julio Collazo said In Maricopa Reporter on site. No one was hospitalized.

The intersection was cleared at 2 a.m
