Toddler killed in Berlin crash, several hospitalized: report

BERLIN, CT – Authorities are investigating a serious multi-vehicle accident that killed a 1-year-old, according to media reports including WTNH News 8.

On Saturday at 2:51 p.m., emergency crews were called to Route 5 at North Colony Road for a serious multi-vehicle crash.

“Arriving emergency services found three vehicles involved and were confronted with several injuries,” the fire department posted on social media. “It was confirmed that one of the vehicles overturned during the accident and several people were ejected from another vehicle.”

Four adults and four children were treated by Hunters Ambulance Fire and Rescue and transported to area hospitals. Lifestar was requested but canceled due to availability. A ninth person, unrelated to the accident, received roadside assistance for a medical problem.

Berlin police and Midstate Accident Reconstruction remained on scene to investigate.
