fentanyl, other drugs seized during the drug raid; 1 arrested

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – One person has been arrested following an investigation by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office Gang Intelligence and Enforcement Unit, led by the EBRSO Special Community Anti-Crime Team, into the distribution of fentanyl, cocaine and other drugs.

Deputies say Montreal Williams, 42, was taken into custody on Sept. 25 after “numerous” hours of surveillance. Officers obtained and executed search warrants on Kerr Street and Galvez Street.

During the search, officers found the following:

  • 1.16 pounds of powder fentanyl (5,267 lethal doses)
  • 7.64 ounces of crystal methamphetamine
  • 2.36 ounces of cocaine powder
  • Narcotics hydraulic press (positive for fentanyl residue)
  • 3 digital scales
  • Boxes with plastic bags
  • Mannitol and quinine narcotics

Williams was arrested on the following charges:

  • two counts of possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II drug (fentanyl).
  • Possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II drug (cocaine).
  • Possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II drug (crystal methamphetamine).
  • Operation of a secret laboratory
  • two counts of drug paraphernalia.

According to officers, Williams admitted that he owned fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine and that he had been selling narcotics for about two weeks.

According to authorities, Williams was previously convicted of cocaine possession in 2014 and possession of a Schedule IV drug (Xanax) with intent to distribute in 2015.
