Keegan Bradley secured the winning point Presidential Cup and then confirmed that he intends to take a page from it Jim Furykis the playbook if he gets his own shot at the captaincy at next year's Ryder Cup.

Bradley, 38, was originally selected as one of Furyk's alternate captains for this year's Presidents Cup.

But Furyk, 54, was forced into a reshuffle when Bradley won the BMW Championship last month.

As a result of this win, Bradley received one of Furyk's six team captain's picks.

He then duly returned the favor by securing the winning point for the Stars and Stripes.

Bradley, who took two of three possible points, secured a narrow 1-up victory over Si Woo Kim on the 18th.

Furyk's Team USA emerged victorious 18.5-11.5 Winner over Mike Weirs Internationals.

It was the 10th consecutive time the United States won the Presidents Cup and the 13th time overall in 15 competitions.

Bradley's winning point for Team USA was made all the more gratifying because he passed the winning point to Europe in his final team competition at the 2014 Ryder Cup.

“That was unbelievable,” said an emotional Bradley, reflecting on the fact that this could be his final appearance as a player on Team USA.

“I've been saying all week that I don't know if I can do this again and play in this tournament, but to get the winning point, my goodness.”

“The last time I played [for Team USA] was the point of losing the Ryder Cup. So if this was my last round as a player, maybe it is, then I’m okay with that.”

Bradley will adopt Furyk's captaincy style

Bradley praised the rest of the U.S. team, many of whom he hopes retain their spots for the 2025 Ryder Cup.

The PGA of America named Bradley shock captain of the 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup team earlier this summer.

This came after Tiger Woods turned down the opportunity to become Ryder Cup captain for the first time in his career.

Bradley has openly admitted that he will not choose to be part of the 2025 US Ryder Cup team.

He can only keep up if he makes it into the team as one of the six automatic players.

After securing the winning point at the 2024 Presidents Cup, Bradley told Golf Channel's Cara Banks that he wants to largely emulate Furyk's captaincy style and culture when he takes on Luke Donald's Team Europe at Bethpage Black next September.

“The guys are incredible,” Bradley continued.

“They really love each other, the women and caddies all love each other and it’s just an incredible atmosphere.”

“I am so proud of the team.

“We're going to copy a lot of what Jim Furyk did this week.
