According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a trooper began a chase with a 2009 Mazda MZ3 in the city of Rochester around 2:20 a.m. and called it off shortly thereafter.

A little later, according to Rochester police, officers responded to an accident in the 500 block of 4 Street SW around 2:45 a.m. in which a sedan struck an unoccupied parked vehicle and then rolled over. RPD said the suspect from the earlier pursuit was responsible for the crash.
