Royal Enfield Guerrilla: Spy Shots

The design of the Guerrilla 450 is similar to the bare-bones roadster silhouette that the company had showcased when it launched the Himalayan. A likely competitor to the Triumph Speed 400 and the recently launched Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z, the new model features a lower seat height and redesigned 17-inch alloy wheels in place of the Himalayan's wire rims. At the front, the bike gets round LED headlights, indicators and new telescopic forks.

The spy shots also confirmed that the top models of the two-wheeler will get the return flight from the Himalayas. This device offers seamless integration with your smartphone for navigation. Basic models of the Guerrilla have to make do with the digital-analog instrument cluster from the Hunter 350 and Meteor series.

The new model is expected to be a shorter and stripped down version of the Himalayan 450 and is 19kg lighter than the ADV model. According to internet reports, the Guerrilla 450 is 2,134 mm long, 834 mm wide and 1,115 mm high. The Guerrilla also has a shorter wheelbase of 1,491 mm compared to the Himalayan's 1,510 mm.

Despite being a smaller motorcycle, Royal Enfield is expected to have equipped the Guerrilla's Sherpa 450 engine with a sportier engine tune. While the overall power output is identical to that of the Himalayan 450 at 39.5 PS peak power and 40 Nm peak torque, a more linear power delivery is expected.

With just a few weeks to go until its launch, the new Royal Enfield Guerrilla is expected to be priced between Rs 2.4-2.6 lakh (ex-showroom), which will undercut some of its rivals. So would you consider this over all-rounders like the Harley Davidson X440 or the Hero Maverick 440?
