On a glorious day in Melbourne, Perry performed in front of 100,000 football fans, playing her legendary hits and a few new songs too.

However, it was her appearance on a giant chrome car that had many fans talking as they tried to figure out what it was. Some compared it to a “giant racket bag,” others said it looked like a “handheld.” Vacuum cleaner”.

The backup dancers all performed with giant silver balloons above their heads, creating a cloud-like effort.

However, eagle-eyed fans spotted a “sad” deflated balloon with its dancer trying to blend in with the crowd.

“Commitment at its best,” said one observer.

“I saw this and said to a colleague, 'This person is going to be chosen.' You will be able to say… There I am!,” said another.

“The show must go on,” another added, as a fourth said: “That balloon is the saddest thing I've ever seen.”

“Do you ever feel like a plastic bag floating in the wind wanting to start over?” said another, referencing the lyrics to her hit song “Firework.”

TikTok user Yasmin Nelson, who shared the video, captioned the video: “The deflated balloon is the new left shark for Katy Perry.”

Nelson was referring to Perry's Super Bowl performance in 2015, where a dancer in a shark costume appeared awkwardly next to the singer but was completely out of time.

Others pointed out the similarity and even noted that both mistakes occurred when she belted out “Teenage Dream.”

“Did someone say Left Shark?” one asked.

“THE SAME SONG,” said another.

A third added: “Why does this always happen during Teenage Dream?”
