Derrick Henry of the Ravens sets the record with his diet

While Derrick Henry ran for 151 yards and two touchdowns in the Baltimore Ravens' 28-25 win over the Dallas Cowboys last week, viewers of FOX Sports' coverage of the NFL game got a glimpse into the rigidity of the former Alabama All-American running back Back's diet.

Tom Rinaldi of FOX Sports said Henry's new teammates in Baltimore have taken note of his “obsessive commitment” to physical conditioning, reporting that the four-time Pro Bowl ball carrier “spends more than a quarter of a million dollars on what he calls physical maintenance.” . ”

Henry's commitment to fitness also extended to his diet, the report says, as he avoids fried foods, dairy, gluten and artificial sugar. Rinaldi also said that Henry doesn't eat his first meal until 4 or 5 p.m. every day during the season, unless he grabs a banana or avocado before practice.

During an appearance on NFL Network's “Good Morning Football” on Thursday, Henry said the report “gave me a little too much credit” with that last point.

“Eating at 4 and 5 p.m. is not, in my opinion, something that is sustainable every day,” Henry said. “There are days when I probably don't eat until 4 or 5, so days when I'm recovering physically or doing IV fluids. But most of the time I wait until 12pm to eat a meal. In the morning I eat avocado, spinach and kale as soon as I get to the building. But in the off-season I usually fast until around 1 or 2 am.

“Every day at four or five o’clock I would be a stick figure.”

With his height of 1.90 meters and a weight of 110 kilograms, Henry is no stick figure.
