Google appears to have started rolling out the new video search feature, allowing users to find video content based on the clips they record. The feature aims to improve the way users discover and interact with their surroundings

Google announced the feature at I/O 2024 and earlier this month Android Authority activated and demonstratedand demonstrates his abilities. Now our contributor Mishaal Rahman reports that the feature is now available to more users.

Essentially, you can now fire up Google Lens and record a short video of something you want to learn more about. You can ask questions about the recorded clip and Google will show you relevant search results related to the topic in the video. In regions where AI overviews are supported, users will see an AI-generated response.

To use Google Lens' new video search feature, first go to Google Lens and press and hold the shutter button. During this time, you can begin to loudly ask your question about the topic in the video.

With this launch, Google Lens is once again making it easier to find information and bridging the gap between still images and dynamic video content.
