1 injured in Sunday car accident in Tilden Township

TILDEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) – One person suffered minor injuries in a car accident near County Road 582 in Tilden Township Sunday evening.

According to the Marquette County Sheriff's Office, officers were dispatched to a collision between a vehicle and a utility pole with downed lines on County Road 581 at 4:52 p.m. A 33-year-old man from Marquette was the driver of the vehicle but was not injured. His passenger, a teenager, suffered minor injuries.

Speed ​​is believed to have been a factor in the crash and remains under investigation. County Road 581 between County Road 482 and County Road PPH was closed for several hours while crews repaired the broken lines.

The Marquette County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Ishpeming Police, Ishpeming Township Fire Department, UP Health Systems-Bell, UPPCO and Antillas Towing.
