Broderick Jones cheers on Steelers fans after loss to Colts: “Come and take my place”

The Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line struggled against an undermanned Indianapolis Colts front that killed their running game and was able to get to Justin Fields. Overall, Pittsburgh averaged just 3.4 yards per carry on runs from its running backs. Fields made some plays out of structure with his legs that increased their rushing totals.

All of the pent-up energy and criticism over the last few weeks has been directed at Broderick Jones, who was on the bench for the team's second game against the Denver Broncos.

It was a frustrating season for Jones, who was not assigned a clear position for the remainder of the year until rookie Troy Fautanu suffered a knee injury that required surgery. Jones will play right tackle and will likely be a starter for the rest of the season, but Pittsburgh has struggled to get anything going up front due to injuries and constant tackle changes.

Despite all his frustration, Jones turned to X to express his frustration to fans. In one post, he tells a fan who blamed him for a sack that he doesn't know football. Subsequent posts show Jones urging fans to do his job for him if they want to criticize him.

Jones sent seven different tweets calling out fans for their comments about him during the game. This is the first time Jones, the Steelers' 2023 first-round pick out of Georgia, has faced adversity in his NFL career. He declined interview requests, saying he wasn't in the right mindset after the Steelers' loss to the Colts.
