Fatal motorcycle accident on Sunday in Fort Fairfield

FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine (WAGM) – According to Fort Fairfield Police, they responded to a single-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle on Presque Isle Road (Route 167) in Fort Fairfield on Sunday around 4:45 p.m.

Fort Fairfield police and firefighters responded to the scene and rendered aid to the driver and an occupant of the motorcycle. The driver was identified as 69-year-old Tony Disy of Caribou.

Disy was riding his 2007 Honda motorcycle eastbound on Route 167 when he veered off the road and came to rest on the paved shoulder. He was transported to AR Gould Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

While interviewing witnesses and examining the accident scene, it is believed that Disy suffered a medical event prior to the incident and was not wearing a helmet at the time. The motorcycle was towed from the scene with minor damage.

Fort Fairfield Police were assisted at the scene by U.S. Border Patrol, Aroostook County Sheriff's Office and Accident Reconstructor Sgt. Kyle White of the Presque Isle Police Department.
