Williams arrested on theft and other charges – Peak of Ohio

On Saturday evening, Logan County sheriff's deputies responded to a reported domestic disturbance at a residence outside of Bellefontaine.

The victim told authorities that Kareem Williams, 35, of Bellefontaine, was at her home despite a Civil Protection Order (CPO) being issued against him.

Upon arrival, police officers acknowledged the CPO and spoke with the victim, who said she allowed Williams to retrieve some of his belongings.

However, when he refused to leave, he allegedly destroyed one of her phones by throwing it on the floor.

Officers found Williams in a bedroom where he was painting.

The deputies attempted to serve the CPO, but Williams ignored the request to sign the docket and appeared agitated.

Despite orders to stop his actions, Williams dismantled a bed he claimed was his and threw the pieces outside into the mud and rain.

As the situation escalated, the victim demanded that Williams return her second phone.

He reacted with hostility and said, “Don’t talk to me.”

After packing his belongings into a trash bag, Williams did not return the phone.

Law enforcement asked him to hand over the stolen phone, but he refused and tried to walk away.

Eventually, Williams was arrested.

A search of the trash bag he had dropped turned up the stolen phone, valued at $2,200, and two packets of Suboxone, which he also allegedly took from the victim.

Williams was taken into custody and taken to the Logan County Jail where he faces charges of theft and criminal damage to property.
