FACT CHECK

NewsMobile verified the claim and determined it was fake.

Performing a reverse image search of the viral video keyframes that NM The team discovered several Bangladeshi media outlets, including Mzamin, Kaler Kantho and Dainik Bayyano, carrying the same image from June 2024.

According to a report by Dainik BayyanoThe bridge – Tepura River Bridge – is located in Champapur Union of Kalapara, Patuakhali. It shows the bridge in a severely dilapidated state, with cast iron bars collapsed on both sides. And many people also had accidents while trying to cross this bridge.

We also found a Facebook post from the group Deshi Biker, which shared the same picture and attributed it to a Facebook user Jitu Sarker. To our surprise, Sarker identified the bridge's location as “Barisal, Bangladesh” in his June 24 Facebook post.

Therefore, it is clear that the damaged bridge in the viral image is in Bangladesh and NOT India.
