St. Louis man charged with murder in Benton Park West neighborhood | State and National News

Police responded to a shooting in the 2800 block of Ohio Avenue around 3 a.m. Sunday and found a 56-year-old man had been shot in the head. He died in a hospital.

The victim's name has not been released.

The police arrested a 69-year-old man. Prosecutors on Sunday charged 69-year-old Roger Dale Huddleston with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

Officers found surveillance video that captured the shooting. The victim held his arm in pain and was shot in the head after 15 seconds, police said. Huddleston then stomped on the victim's body, police court documents said.

Police arrested Huddleston and showed him the video. He told officers that the shooting was “unjustified” if the victim had been shot in the head and that the victim did not pose a threat, police said.

Huddleston, of the 2800 block of Ohio Avenue, was jailed without bail.
