PARAMUS β€” A Hillsdale mother who has developed a large following on social media has been identified as the victim of a horrific pedestrian accident in Bergen County.

Demaris Martinez, 28, was hit in Paramus around 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning, September 21st.

The Hillsdale woman was crossing Route 17 near the Wendy's when she was struck by a white Kia heading south. According to Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti, she was then struck again by a tractor-trailer traveling in the same direction.

Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Martinez has almost 50,000 followers on Facebook and over 15,000 on TikTok for her videos and photos.

In her videos, Martinez talked about her relationship with God, makeup tutorials, and various other topics. Last June, she posted photos of her β€œgorgeous” son.

Martinez also posted on Facebook about her experience surviving domestic violence and said her ex was in prison.

From her posts it appeared that she was also training to become a lawyer. She posted photos showing that she had a 3.94 GPA last spring semester.

The crash is still under investigation.
