Waffle House employee claims she was fired for making viral videos at work

A Waffle House employee claims she was fired for posting a TikTok video that went viral.

Yadira Ramirez (@yadirajramirez1) filmed the clip on September 19th; It showed her with colleagues dancing and lip-syncing to the song “Brokey” by Latto.

Videos related to the song became trending on the platform as said the rapper The fan who posted the best clip “doing their job” would win $10,000 and the chance to appear in a music video.

Ramirez and her colleagues lip-synced to the song while washing dishes, counting cash and eating waffles, and the video subsequently racked up 28.2 million views and 4.1 million likes.

But in a follow-up video with 14.1 million views, an emotional Ramirez claimed that she was fired from the restaurant chain after working at an Atlanta branch for six years.

“I just got fired because of the Big Lattos Challenge video,” she said in the TikTok. “I'm glad I put six years into a company that literally fired me on a day that I posted a video that didn't hurt anyone, that everyone actually supported in every sense of the word that excited them and that they were happy about.”

She shared that Waffle House allegedly put her on what's called an “EFR list,” which means, “Basically, I can never be hired again.”

Ramirez posted an additional video explaining that it's not against company policy to use their phones at work – they're just not allowed to talk badly about the brand.

Additionally, she noted that there were two managers present at the time the video was recorded and “they knew what was going on and they said they didn't want anything to do with it” – but Ramirez added, “Same thing.” The manager The one who fired me is the same manager who was there.”

She also claimed she was the only one who was fired and no one else was reported.

However, it wasn't a negative ending for Ramirez as Latto took note of the situation. The next video Ramirez posted was a September 25 clip of her dancing again with Latto herself, who handed her a wad of cash probably worth a total of $10,000.

The Post has also reached out to Latto's representatives for comment.

And now Ramirez seems ready to move on.

“Besides, I’m fine. I'm not sad. I was just sad at the moment. I understand that life is about growth and blessings, I'm excited for my new path,” Ramirez added in the comments of one of her videos.
