Penn State learns kickoff time and sends information for its Week 7 game at USC

Penn State and USC earn a permanent spot in their upcoming rankings game in Week 7.

The Big Ten announced Monday that the Nittany Lions and Trojans will begin play in just under two weeks at 3:30 p.m. With Penn State traveling west, the game begins at 12:30 p.m. local time. CBS will have the broadcast.

Penn State (4-0) moved up to No. 7 in the Week 6 AP Poll. USC (3-1) also moved up to No. 11, with its lone loss coming against Michigan (No. 10). That set the stage for a top-15 matchup at LA Memorial Coliseum, the second-ranked matchup for Penn State and third for USC.

Penn State played one more game this season at 3:30 p.m., defeating Kent State 56-0. The Nittany Lions did not play on CBS this season.

The Trojans won a big game in their season opener, defeating then-No. 13 LSU 27-20. Coach Lincoln Riley's team's comeback failed at Michigan, while strong performances against Utah State and Wisconsin kept USC atop the rankings.

Penn State is coming off a 21-7 win over then-No. 19 Illinois and has a date with 1-3 UCLA next weekend that is scheduled to start at noon.

The Nittany Lions have had five straight weeks at home, including four games and a bye week. A long trip west to USC will be Penn State's first road game since its season opener at West Virginia.
