Bar fight in Ellwood City sends man to hospital | Local News

Police say charges are pending against a man who reportedly attacked and injured another male customer at the Shelby Bar in Ellwood City on Saturday.

The reported victim was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh with apparent serious head injuries, according to Ellwood City Police Officer Sgt. Michael McBride.

McBride said an argument broke out between two women at the Fountain Avenue tavern and one of those allegedly involved hit another man. The officer in charge said the man fell backwards to the ground and hit his head.

McBride said the entire incident was caught on surveillance video. He said there had been several fights at the tavern and that police considered it a nuisance bar.

Further details will be announced as charges are filed.
