Two teenagers, one 14, are accused of shooting into a crowd in Jackson

Jackson police have arrested two teenagers accused of shooting into a crowd over the weekend. Detective Tommie Brown said in a news release Monday that a 16-year-old and a 14-year-old are accused of shooting at a gathering of people in the 3600 block of South Frontage Road on Saturday. According to Brown, the teens were in a white SUV. Two vehicles were shot at, one of which was occupied, Brown said. Officers spotted a vehicle matching the description at a nearby gas station. Brown said the two teens were arrested and the gun used in the incident was recovered. The teens, who could not be identified because they were juveniles, are charged with aggravated assault, shooting into an occupied vehicle and possession of a firearm by a defendant, petty mischief and malicious mischief. No injuries were reported.
