SEDALIA MAN ACCUSED OF DRUG TRAFFICKING | KMMO

Pettis County authorities arrested a Sedalia man on two felony drug charges in the early morning hours of Monday, September 30th.

According to a probable cause statement, a Pettis County deputy observed a vehicle without headlights traveling on U.S. Highway 50 in the Sedalia city limits. The deputy followed the vehicle as it turned into a driveway on Crescent Drive before the deputy could turn on his emergency lights.

The deputy made contact with the driver and passenger in the vehicle, who did not live at the residence they were driving into. Authorities identified the passenger as Evan Bankovich and noticed that he attempted to hide a small plastic bag on the ground as he exited the vehicle. Officers tested the contents of the bag, which tested positive for methamphetamine and fentanyl. exceeds the legal amount for human trafficking.

Bankovich was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail.

Bankovich was charged with second-degree drug trafficking and possession of a controlled substance. His bail was set at $100,000 cash or surety. There are currently no hearings scheduled.
