Adele and Jack Harlow's music videos return to YouTube as part of SESAC deal

Music videos for a number of top artists including Adele, Jack Harlow and Ariana Grande are returning to YouTube after the Google-owned video service struck a new deal with SESAC on Monday.

Some — but not all — videos from SESAC artists were no longer available in the U.S. as of Saturday due to ongoing negotiations between the performing rights organization and YouTube.

“If you are in the United States, we are pleased to announce that YouTube has reached an agreement with SESAC,” YouTube wrote on YouTube services restored.” two.”

Terms of the new deal were not disclosed.

When YT viewers tuned in to videos like Nirvana's “In Bloom” over the weekend, they were instead greeted with a black screen and a notification that the content was blocked.

Other artists affected included Bob Dylan, J. Cole, Alice in Chains, Kendrick Lamar, Fleetwood Mac, Green Day, YG and Mariah Carey.

SESAC has existed since 1930 and is not a record company, but an organization that collects royalties for artists and publishers.

If this sounds familiar, it's because Universal artists like Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga removed their music from TikTok earlier this year. After three months, both sides reached an agreement and the artists had their music restored to the popular app.
