75-year-old woman dies in fatal car-pedestrian accident in Saratoga Springs

A 75-year-old woman has died after a car-pedestrian accident in Saratoga Springs.

The accident occurred Monday morning as a woman who works as a border guard was going from one job to another when she met the 75-year-old near the intersection of Cozy Lane and Floribunda Drive in Saratoga Springs, officials said.

Spencer Cannon with the Utah County Sheriff's Office said there is no crosswalk in the area.

Cannon said there was no evidence of driver impairment for speeding in the 25 mph range.

CPR was performed on the 75-year-old woman and was subsequently taken to the hospital, where she died, Cannon said.

The investigation is continuing as of Monday afternoon and the identity of the deceased has not yet been released, Cannon said.

Because the driver is a city employee, the Utah County Sheriff's Office will be conducting the investigation.
