Man arrested after alleged road rage incident in East Bridgewater

EAST BRIDGEWATER – A 61-year-old East Bridgewater man is facing multiple charges stemming from an alleged violent incident Sunday that involved a collision with another vehicle and an attempt to hit pedestrians with his car.

Alan Eugene Stec was arrested after a pursuit that ended with him fleeing on foot and being subdued with a Taser, East Bridgewater Police Chief Michael Jenkins said.

Officers responded to a 911 call around 12:05 a.m. Sunday reporting a road rage incident near 555 Washington St. The caller reported a driver intentionally hit another vehicle and was attempting to hit people on foot with his car .

Police located a damaged vehicle that failed to stop and drove into a meadow, narrowly overtaking a police cruiser and oncoming traffic.

The driver continued into a backyard and ignored officers' commands to stop.

Stec eventually exited the vehicle near a wooded area and attempted to flee on foot.

After an officer refused orders to stop, he deployed a Taser.

Police allege Stec spat at officers after his arrest.

Stec faces 13 charges, including multiple counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, assault on a police officer and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

He was held on $250,000 bail pending arraignment Monday in Brockton District Court.
