NFL Injuries Week 4: All the latest updates on Rashee Rice, Jonathan Taylor, Anthony Richardson and more

It's another week in the NFL, and while that means plenty of big plays and touchdowns, it also unfortunately means injuries. We keep a running record of all notable injuries from Sunday's games.

Chiefs star Rashee Rice suffered probably the biggest injury of the day. Although Kansas City picked up its fourth straight win to start the season, it could be without Rice for the rest of the season. Rice was forced off in the first half with a knee injury ESPN reports that the Chiefs fear the second-year receiver has a torn ACL. Head coach Andy Reid said it was “not good.” Big blow for the reigning Super Bowl champions.

Other notable injuries include Bengals edge rusher Trey Hendrickson, Buccaneers wide receiver Trey Palmer, Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson and running back Jonathan Taylor, Steelers running back Cordarrelle Patterson and Saints tight end Taysom Hill.

Below is a breakdown of all notable injuries from Sunday's Week 4 games for each team.

  • LG Teven Jenkins (ribs): Chicago's starting offensive lineman was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Rams with a rib injury. Jenkins is day-to-day, the Bears said Monday.
  • DE Trey Hendrickson (neck): Cincinnati's star pass rusher left the field midway through the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Panthers with a neck injury. After the game, head coach Zac Taylor called Hendrickson's injury painful. However, there were also multiple reports that Hendrickson's right arm was in a sling as he left the stadium.
  • LB Jordan Hicks (elbow): The veteran walked to the locker room during the first half of the Raiders game. He was listed as questionable to return.
  • G Ethan Pocic (ankle): The Browns lineman left Week 4 and was also questionable about whether he would return.
  • RB Nick Chubb (knee): The Browns running back will return to practice this week. per head coach Kevin Stefanski. The team opens Chubb's three-week training window. The 28-year-old suffered a serious knee injury in Week 2 of the 2023 season and has been treating the injury since then.
  • RB Nyheim Hines (knee): Stefanski said he expects Hines to practice “pretty soon,” possibly as early as this week. Hines tore his ACL last July after being hit by a jet ski.
  • TE David Njoku (ankle): According to Stefanski, Njoku, who is dealing with an ankle injury, is expected to practice this week. Njoku practiced last Thursday but had to sit out last Friday and not participate in their Week 3 matchup.
  • WR Trey Palmer (concussion): The Tampa Bay wideout was ruled out for the remainder of the game between Tampa and the Eagles due to a concussion.
  • WR Mike Evans (knee/calf): The pass catcher was listed as out of practice on Monday's estimated practice report.
  • WR Rashee Rice (knee): The Chiefs were dealt a major blow when their star WR suffered a knee injury early in the game against the Chargers. He had to be carted off the field in the first half and was quickly eliminated. At halftime, head coach Andy Reid said the injury was “not good.” According to ESPN, Rice reportedly suffered a torn ACL. You can read more about Rice's injury Here. Reid said Monday that he has no definite schedule about Rice's injury, but that the receiver will not be available next week.
  • QB Anthony Richardson (hip): According to NFL Media, Richardson is listed as “day-to-day” with oblique and abdominal strains and could play against the Jaguars this week. Richardson was subsequently expelled injured his hip in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Steelers. “I feel a little sore,” Richardson said after the game. “But great execution [by] everyone on the field. I think I'll be good. Just a little sore.” On Monday, head coach Shane Steichen said it wasn't a “huge, huge injury.” “We’ll see how the week goes and what happens next,” Steichen added.
  • RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle): The Colts' Pro Bowl runner has a mild upper ankle sprain, according to ESPN. Taylor injured his ankle in the fourth quarter. “I feel pretty good,” Taylor said after the game, via ESPN. “We came out victorious so I’m looking forward to attacking this week because it’s going to be a tough affair again.”
  • S Tyler Owens (shoulder): The rookie special teams player sat out against the Cardinals and was listed as questionable to return.

  • DE/LB Josh Hines-Allen (concussion): Head coach Doug Pederson said Monday that Hines-Allen is in the concussion protocol.

Jets

  • S Tony Adams: Adams was examined in the medical tent during the first half of Sunday's game against the Broncos.
  • Full-back Christian Watson (ankle): According to head coach Matt LaFleur, Watson will be out for “at least a week or so” after suffering a sprained upper ankle. However, NFL Media reports that Watson is expected to be out for several weeks.
  • OT Caedan Wallace (ankle): The Patriots' rookie was carted from the sideline to the locker room during the first half against the 49ers. He was ruled out after being listed as questionable.
  • S Kyle Dugger (ankle): Like Wallace, Dugger was ruled out after a return to the 49ers game was deemed questionable. He has an ankle injury.
  • C David Andrews (shoulder): The Patriots lost their starting center for the game against the 49ers.

Panthers

  • LB Shaq Thompson (Achilles): Carolina linebacker confirmed on Instagram that he had suffered a torn Achilles tendon and will be out for the season, but said he would not retire and would be back next year.
  • RB/TE Taysom Hill (abdomen): Hill went to the Saints' injury tent after clutching his chest. He was later ruled out due to an abdominal injury.
  • LB Willie Gay Jr. (Hand): The Saints LB left with a hand injury.

Steelers

  • RB Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle): Patterson, who had more playing time due to the loss of Jaylen Warren, was carted off the field in the first half with an ankle injury.

Cowboys

  • LB Micah Parsons (ankle): The edge rusher is unlikely to play this week. according to head coach Mike McCarthy. The head coach confirmed it was an ankle sprain but did not say how serious the injury is. He was wearing a hiking boot on Monday.
  • Demarcus Lawrence (foot): Lawrence is expected to miss several games as he continues to battle a foot injury. The edge rusher reportedly has a Lisfranc injury and was seen wearing a walking boot on Monday.

Hawks

  • RB Bijan Robinson (hamstring): Robinson was listed as a limited participant with a hamstring injury in Monday's report. The Falcons play on Thursday night.

Bills

  • QB Josh Allen: Head coach Sean McDermott said Allen is “sore, he should be fine as we move forward here” after suffering a serious blow Sunday night. McDermott added that they would “continue to take it one day at a time, but it should be fine.”
