Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Week 4: Jameson Williams, David Montgomery

It seemed like the Detroit Lions' offense was finally going to break through in Week 3 against the Arizona Cardinals, but a quiet second half proved that wouldn't be the case. While running back David Montgomery had his best game of the 2024 season, wide receiver Jameson Williams had his worst.

Montgomery hurled the rock a whopping 23 times for 105 yards, and he was rewarded for his third straight game. The veteran fullback also saw three goals, which he converted into three balls for 17 yards.

Things were completely different for Williams, who failed to score a fantasy point after two strong games at the start of the season. Williams had one reception for nine yards and was stuffed for -7 yards on his only carry.

You probably already know the answer to Montgomery, but should Williams be in your lineup when the Lions face the Seattle Seahawks in Week 4? Let's discuss.

Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Week 4: Jameson Williams

On the surface, this is a scary matchup against a Seahawks team that gives up the fewest fantasy points per game to wide receivers, but it needs some context.

Seattle has drawn three favorable matchups against lackluster passing attacks in its first three games, namely against rookie Bo Nix, journeyman Jacoby Brissett and backup Skylar Thompson, so that should definitely be taken into account.

Jared Goff and the Lions are the biggest challenge Seattle has faced to date, and I think Williams will bounce back after his worst performance of the 2024 season.

Verdict: Start 'Em

Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Week 4: David Montgomery

The Lions are one of the rare teams in fantasy football where you can confidently play both running backs every week.

While all the attention was focused on Jahmyr Gibbs starting the season, Montgomery was more productive, ranking 9th overall according to Fantasy Pros compared to Gibbs at 13th. Both Lions defensemen are starters every week, regardless of the week Encounter.

Verdict: Start 'Em
