Dolphins LB Phillips leaves game against Titans with knee injury

MIAMI – Miami Dolphins linebacker Jaelan Phillips left Monday night's game against the Tennessee Titans with a knee injury and will not return.

Phillips appeared to injure his right knee for the first time in the second quarter and left the game. He spent a short time in the medical tent, but quickly left the tent and eventually returned to the game. However, the injury appeared to worsen in the third quarter when he hit his hand on the turf several times in frustration.

He was escorted to the locker room and banned from the rest of the game.

If the injury forces him to miss next week's game against the New England Patriots, the Dolphins may be without their top two pass rushers. Bradley Chubb has missed all four games this season due to a torn ACL he suffered at the end of last season. He remains on the physically unable to perform list but is eligible to return in Week 5.

Chop Robinson, Miami's first-round pick this year, will likely play an extended role in Phillips' absence.
