It's not every day that someone plays for $1 million Wheel of Fortune. But in a recent episode, one contestant had the chance…only it ended in disappointment.

On the September 16 episode of the hit game show, viewers saw the contestant Vivian Tran as she vied to win the top prize in the bonus round. People saw her standing by the new host's side Ryan Seacrestwhose “heart.” [was] Race” because up to that point he had never seen a competitor try to win a million dollars. Since the puzzle category was “What are you doing?”, Vivian guessed the letters “C, H, M, I and P” to try and fill in the blanks. Later, when the prompt on the puzzle board read “_ _ _ ERINGS _ ME HELP,” Vivian tried to guess what the possible phrase might be.

“Would you like help?” Vivian surmised in a clip posted on Wheel of Fortuneis Instagram. “Answer help? Can you find help? Are you looking for help? Limit for help?”

Unfortunately for her, the full sentence of the puzzle was “Offer some help.” While Vivian was initially frustrated by not knowing the correct answer, Ryan unfortunately made it worse. He opened the envelope and revealed what she could have won if she had gotten it right… and it was none other than a $1 million prize.

When I saw Vivian's Wheel of Fortune Suspecting she had made a mistake, fans were shocked at what happened – and were sympathetic to her in the comments.

“I literally gasped when Ryan revealed she had the million. 😮,” one person wrote. “I know how hard it is up there…enjoy what you solved!! “You made it onto the show…that’s an achievement right there!!!” another penned. “Oh my God, I wanted to cry for her!! We screamed the answer too!!!” another viewer added.

Although Vivian's trajectory continues Wheel of Fortune Things didn't turn out the way she had hoped, but there was a positive aspect to the whole thing. She still won a total of $27,300, even though she didn't take home a huge sum of money.

“It turned out great, a little painful, but I'm grateful for the opportunity,” she said Maggie Sayak in another video posted to Instagram. “I knew the last two words… but the first… I couldn't understand the syllables. It lasted 10 seconds, and when I got to the eighth second I thought 'Ugh' and missed it.” “
