Suspect arrested for following teenage girls around a California city

Scotts Valley police said they arrested a man for molesting and molesting a child under 18 years old. On Friday, two teenage girls were followed around Scotts Valley as they visited several bars, police said. An adult male continued to engage them in inappropriate conversations and follow them wherever they went. “The young girls were quite uncomfortable with the adult man's questions and continued interaction, even though they had told him that they were in 8th and 9th grade and had no interest in discussing such content with him,” she said Police in a media release. They called their parents to pick them up and took a photo of the man. The incident was reported to the police on Saturday. A six-pack line was formed and both girls independently identified the same man as their harasser, police said. Jerry Gene Toste, 38, of Scotts Valley, was arrested at his home. He was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail on a charge of molesting or molesting a child under 18 years of age.
