1 man killed, 2 others injured in shooting in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, police said

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT (WABC) — A shooting in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, on Monday left one person dead and two others injured, according to police.

The shooting happened at 456 Lafayette Avenue in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn around 5:20 p.m., police said.

According to police, a 32-year-old man was shot in the head and pronounced dead.

A 26-year-old was shot in the stomach and shoulder and a 33-year-old was shot in the upper body, police said.

They were taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.

One of the victims was pronounced dead and the other two were taken to a nearby hospital, police said.

Police are looking for a suspect dressed all in black who fled on foot.

Terrie Little's 11-year-old son was innocently walking home from school when he was caught in the aftermath of Monday's deadly shooting at the Lafayette Gardens Public House.

“He said there were 20 police officers and 20 ambulances outside. He didn't know what was going on at all. My husband wanted to go in and lock the door. We were on the Q train on the way here,” resident Terry Little said.

Police believe the shooter was standing on the edge of the playground when they opened fire.

Three men in the middle of the game room were hit.

The Littles say they plan to protect their son in middle school so he no longer has to come home alone.

“We literally do our best to get out of here because of things like this. Really and extremely scary,” Little said.

Luckily, no children were playing outside at the time of the shooting.

Police are still investigating the motive.
