Pink grasshopper caught on camera! The photographer of this rare find is only 9 years old

You may have come across green grasshoppers in your garden, but did you know that pink grasshoppers also exist? Wait, we're not kidding. The quite rare species is said to live in Europe and Asia. The chance that people will spot a pink grasshopper while walking in the US forest is only 1%. However, a young photographer was lucky enough not only to see this insect, but also to capture it on camera.

A pink grasshopper was recently captured on camera, and the photographer was a 9-year-old girl who is known for her interest in capturing wildlife through her lenses.

Only 1% of people discover this creature in their lifetime

Jamie, the young and award-winning photographer who is popularly called the “eagle-eyed girl” due to her online presence, was recently spotted photographing a beautiful and rare pink grasshopper.

In her most recent snap, Jamie was seen focusing on a pink grasshopper, which gets its unique, rather than green, color due to a genetic mutation. “Wow, I just found a pink grasshopper. About 1% of people can see pink grasshoppers in their lifetime. So I’m happy to see them,” she said.

At the end of the video, the picture clicked by Jamie was of the pink grasshopper sitting around some grass.

About nine-year-old Jamie

It was learned that Jamie started using a Nikon D500, which happened to be her father's camera, at the age of six and a half. It was her love of magnificent landscapes and exploring nature that fascinated her to capture the alchemy of nature with her camera and share the images with the world.
