Two injured, one arrested in Buffalo County crash on HWY 35 | News

One person has been arrested following a crash that closed Highway 35 near the Buffalo County town of Milton Saturday evening.



BUFFALO COUNTY (WQOW) – One person has been arrested following a crash that closed Highway 35 near the Buffalo County town of Milton Saturday evening.

According to the Buffalo County Sheriff's Office, Highway 35 was completely blocked when emergency crews arrived at the scene. They found that a 1995 Geo Prizm driven by Luis Alberto Jerez Vasquez of Fountain City crossed the center line of the highway and struck a Chevrolet Equinox traveling in the opposite direction. Another car, a Toyota Camry, then tried to swerve to avoid the Prizm but was also hit. The driver and passenger of the Camry were taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Vasquez and the driver of the Equinox were examined at the scene but did not request transport.







Vasquez admitted to drinking alcohol and was arrested for operating while intoxicated causing injury and several traffic violations. The criminal complaint states that his blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was 0.164. The legal limit for driving in Wisconsin is 0.08 BAC.
