A Cincinnati bakery is going viral for its “crumbly” presidential cookie poll

A Cincinnati bakery is going viral this week for its presidential cookie poll. In 1984, Cincinnati-based Busken Bakery launched its presidential cookie poll. According to Busken, the best-selling cookie for both major parties' candidates accurately predicted the election winner through 2020. Busken has four bakeries in the area. The bakery posts daily updates of its financial statements on Tuesdays and Fridays in its stories and on its page. On Friday, the bakery released its latest figures and said national media coverage tipped the scales: “Who will help close the gap?” the bakery said in the caption. The latest “crumbly” results show that 13,433 Donald Trump cookies and 3,313 Kamala Harris cookies were purchased. The survey even caught the attention of Elon Musk, who reposted a New York Post article with a screenshot of the movie poster for Boss Baby that reads, “Cookies are for closers.” Eight cookies cost $15. The bakery sells them in store and ships them nationwide. Each cookie purchased counts as a single vote and is included in the daily tallies. Polls will continue until the election on November 5th. With 17 electoral votes, Ohio is one of the most important swing states in the country. The state previously had 18 seats but lost one due to the 2020 census results. In the last six presidential elections, the state has been carried by Republicans four times and Democrats twice.
