The 90-year-old responded to fan speculation that he was too old to perform after a viral clip from his final performance at The Four Seasons and cleared the air with a statement.

“I'm blessed to be 90 years old and still doing what I love to do, and as long as I'm able and the audience wants to see me, I'll be out there performing like I always do,” he said it in the statement People read.

“I absolutely love what I do. And I know we put on a great show because our fans still come out in droves and the show still rocks.”

The singer clarified: “How do we do the show?! The Four Seasons sound has always been about layering vocals and instruments. We use our 60 years of experience to make us sound like the records.”

“I sing, I have singers who sing, great arrangements… everything,” he continued, adding: “I have to smile when I wonder if someone is forcing me to go on stage. “I don't want to do.

The statement ended with: “I plan on doing shows and delivering the great Four Seasons sound for as long as possible. Like that line in “Jersey Boys,” I’m like that bunny on TV that just keeps running and running and chasing the music.”

Frankie's statement comes in response to a viral clip of the singer performing the song “Sherry” with his backup singers, in which he appears to lip-sync his own singing while barely opening his mouth. But it wasn't the first time critics expressed concern about the nonagenarian.

Another video from his “Last Encores” tour show in August 2024 went viral, with commenters asking if Frankie was being forced to perform against his will.

The singer's representatives countered those statements, instead saying he was “super happy” to continue performing.

“Frankie is doing well and is super happy to be able to continue performing,” the statement said. “The audience fills the halls and hears great music. Frankie is doing what he loves at 90…we should all be so lucky!”
