Police are closing Radcliffe Street due to the unfolding incident

An evolving police incident led to the closure of part of Radcliffe Street in Bristol Borough on Tuesday.

As of 7 a.m., police had closed the 400 block of Radcliffe Street due to ongoing police operations.

Police Chief Joe Moors said the situation was contained and officers were closing that portion of the road.

Exact details of the situation had not been released as of 7:30 a.m

Residents said there was heavy police activity between Walnut and Franklin streets and it appeared a standoff was underway.

Bristol District Police were supported at the scene by a number of neighboring departments.

The Bristol Borough School District notified parents of the police activity.
