'I saw her again after…': Mohammed Shami's contribution to 'Bebo' is emotional

Mohammed Shami has been out of action since a great show for Indian cricket in the 2023 ODI World Cup. But due to an injury and subsequent ankle surgery, Shami missed a number of series. He has now been named in the Bengal Ranji Trophy squad and there is growing expectation that he will suit up for India ahead of Australia, which begins in the third week of November. Shami also bowled in training.

On Tuesday, Shami wrote an emotional post about meeting his daughter. Mohammed Shami and Hasin Jahan live separately and have daughter Aaira. After a long time, Shami met her daughter again and the father-daughter duo was seen shopping together.

“Time stopped when I saw her again after a long time. I love you more than words can say, Bebo,” Shami posted on Instagram. The post received over 1.60 lakh likes in just over an hour.

Mohammed Shami recently gave a fitness update and said he is working hard to make a comeback soon but does not want to rush and risk getting injured again. Shami is making significant progress in his recovery from an ankle injury that has kept him out of cricket since last year's ODI World Cup. Shami is currently in the final phase of his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. The Indian pacer resumed bowling for the first time back in July after his surgery and gradually increased his bowling duties while reporting no pain.

Speaking at the annual awards ceremony of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), Shami said that he has worked hard to make a comeback. The 34-year-old added that he needs to work on his fitness so that there are no problems.

“I'm working hard to make a comeback soon because I know I've been out of action for quite a while. I want to make sure there are no complaints when I return. I have to work on my fitness so that there are no complaints.” Shami was quoted by the ICC as saying.

Shami revealed his comeback plans ahead of India's second leg of the World Test Championship (WTC) matches and said he will not take any risks until he is 100 percent fit.

“The stronger I come back, the better it is for me. I don't want to rush and risk getting injured again, be it against Bangladesh, New Zealand or the Australia series. I have already started bowling but I won.” “I won't take any risks until I am 100 percent fit,” he added.

“If I have to play domestic cricket to test my fitness, I will do that. The most important thing is that I am ready for whatever comes next, regardless of the opponent or the format,” he further added.
