VG247 video editor Jim Trinca is dead and never coming back

Jim Trinca, our beloved video editor and dear friend, has left VG247 forever… As he has taken up a new role as part of Eurogamer's video team. We wish him all the best in his next endeavor, even though we are sad to see him go.

Jim first joined the team in 2022 to create video content that fits our lighter tone of video game coverage. He succeeded in this. Whether it was exploring Earth in Starfield, diving into Baldur's Gate 3 on the PS5, or being terrible at Company of Heroes 3, he brought a unique charm to the site that we won't replace. Even if we wanted to, it would be impossible. They don't make them like Jim anymore.

He was also responsible for hosting VG247's Best Games Ever Podcast, a unique take on the video game podcast with literally dozens of listeners around the world. This bizarre idea has now developed its own monster and will remain a testament to Jim even after his death. The ghost of Jim Trinca will continue to host the VG247 podcast for the foreseeable future, don't worry.

Personally speaking, video and podcast content is scary if you've never done it before! Jim was instrumental in ensuring that the VG247 staff could use the microphone and camera, and I can speak for the team when I say that we will forever thank him for that. Quick-witted, funny and charming. Jim will be sorely missed by the VG247 staff, and I'm sure readers will miss him too.

If you'd like to keep up with Jim, he'll now be making videos on our sister site Eurogamer! Luckily, despite all the odds, he is still working. He brings the same passion and love for creating videos and video games as a whole to the Eurogamer channel and we hope you stop by there to give him some love. But come back, Eurogamer already has too many views and we need it more than they do.
