Bolton Landing man faces drug and drunk driving charges after crash

A Bolton Landing man is facing drug and drunk driving charges after a crash.

New York State Police said 25-year-old Gabriel M. Houghton crashed into a guardrail on Lake Shore Drive in The Hague just before 3 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 29. Houghton then left the scene.

A caller reported the accident to the police. Police found a vehicle matching that description disabled on the road a short distance away.

According to police, there were heavy narcotics and cannabis in the vehicle.

Houghton recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.14%. The legal limit for blood alcohol content in New York State is 0.08%.

Houghton was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia, drunken driving and traffic violations.

He was taken to the Warren County Jail to await arraignment.
