Man charged in Salemtown Roasted shooting faces murder charges

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The man accused of causing a mass shooting at a Nashville restaurant on Easter is now facing murder and aggravated assault charges.

Anton Lamick Rucker now faces 11 charges related to what happened at Roasted in Salemtown. Six months ago, eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene when Rucker allegedly opened fire during Sunday brunch hours, causing panic and chaos. Allen Beachem, 33, died in the shooting. Several people were injured.

Rucker is accused of:

  • Two counts of first degree murder
  • One count of attempted first-degree murder
  • One count of criminal possession of a firearm
  • Six counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
  • A charge of dangerous possession of a weapon with a prior conviction

Rucker's criminal record dates back to 1995, when he was just 18 years old and was initially charged with driving without a license. Over the years, his crimes escalated, ranging from reckless driving to drug possession, illegal weapons possession, aggravated assault and evading arrest.
A year ago this month, Rucker was arrested in Murfreesboro on drug charges, followed in August by aggravated assault and firearm charges. Records show Rucker got into an altercation with a driver in traffic court last August when the driver accused Rucker of cutting him off.

In July, a federal grand jury indicted Rucker on charges of unlawful possession of ammunition and firearms.
