Hanna Cavinder rants about the negativity as trolls attack Carson Beck after Georgia loss

Miami Women's basketball player Hanna Cavinder recently took to TikTok to defend her boyfriend – Georgia quarterback Carson Beck – and others who are attacked on social media.

Cavinder hit out at online trolls who give negative reviews to athletes based on their game, looks, etc.

“Okay, I'm just going to get this out of the way because this shit literally fires me up and annoys me so much when it comes to social media and today's society,” Hanna Cavinder said. “I don't understand why viewers or fans or whatever it is satisfying to comment on a person's or athlete's appearance on social media, or why they like roasting them and thinking it's OK, easy just commenting on what they look like, attacking them, tearing them down, like these people aren't human.”

Athletes regularly receive criticism on social media, and Carson Beck certainly received his share after struggling at times in Georgia's loss Alabama on the weekend.

Hanna Cavinder made it clear that she was annoyed by the negative comments.

“It's actually disgusting these days how society can just turn a blind eye to someone making a comment online about how a person looks, and it's just disgusting that everyone is content to humiliate someone based on their appearance.” said Hanna Cavinder. “It just doesn't suit me.” It makes me sick when people go out of their way to anonymously or literally comment on photos of anyone without even having a burner account and say, “That person is ugly” or commenting on people’s weight or whatever.

“I mean, I get it all the time. I just find it absolutely ridiculous how people can put in so much effort. And it just fires me up. That's why I'm trying to tell you, if you have something unkind to say to a person, maybe just shut up and not say a word because it affects people's lives. We are all human beings.”

Cavinder further said that she doesn't know what happens that makes people behave like this.

“And who raised these people, is my question?” she said. “Like I never have the courage to comment on social media about what a woman or a man looks like. And I just can't resist saying, 'I don't like what that person wore.' That person looks a certain way to me.' I don’t understand how you were raised to do this and I think it’s okay to do that person to person.”
