The Sheridan native prepares for the biggest fight of her career | KCWY station

SHERIDAN – After 11 years in the combat sports industry, the Sheridan native is preparing for the biggest fight of her career to date.

Veronika Dmitriveya was adopted from Russia to Sheridan, Wyoming at a young age. After her military service, she got into boxing when she met her trainer Paul Valdez through a mutual friend.

Recently, Dmitriyeva switched from MMA to boxing and was selected with that promotion to fight the second-largest female boxer in the world.

Dmitriyeva says: “I’m the type of fighter who doesn’t give up. I don’t fully understand everything, but I won’t give up easily.”

Her coach Valdez sheds light on the situation.

He explains: “They’re obviously not taking us there to win. Krystal Rosado is a protégé of one of Jake Paul's signees, so they're not taking us there to win. They want to cement another win in their career and I think we will ruin their plans. I've watched all of her tapes and videos and she has a few little flaws in her movement and movement that I think we can exploit and I think she wasn't hit as hard as [Veronika] will beat her.”

Her military background has given her strength and endurance that will help her in the ring.

Valdez says: “She deserves to be in the spotlight, she worked hard, she worked hard for a very long time to get to this place.

You can watch the fight on pay-per-view on DAZN Boxing. The fight takes place on July 26th in Orlando, Florida.
