Christina Aguilera's style and beauty evolution over the years

You can't talk about the pop icons of the 2000s without mentioning Christina Aguilera.

At just 18 years old, the powerful singer debuted her self-titled album in 1999 and it didn't take long for the album to become an instant classic. With songs like “Genie in a Bottle”, “What a Girl Wants”, “So Emotional” and “I Turn to You” Christina Aguilera received widespread acclaim from fans and critics.

In the years that followed, the former Disney Mouseketeer produced one hit after another – Dirrty, Lady Marmalade, Ain't No Other Man, Candyman, Hurt – and cemented her place as the queen of pop culture.

Aguilera recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of her debut album and, to mark the anniversary, hired modern pop stars like Sabrina Carpenter and Machine Gun Kelly.

As we continue to celebrate and revisit one of the most important albums of the early 1970s, we take a look back at Christina Aguilera's style evolution.

No makeup, no problem. The singer appeared at the American Music Awards in November wearing barely any makeup and most recently posed on the cover of Paper Magazine shows off her freckles.

“I'm at a point where it's a liberating feeling, even musically, to be able to strip everything back and appreciate who you are and your raw beauty,” she said.

Before turning to a more subtle look, Aguilera showcased some of her most daring beauty looks as a judge — like this purple hairstyle The voice.

There's one look she'll never let go of: classic Old Hollywood-style side-swept hair paired with a bold red lip and lots of lashes, which she often rocked during her Moulin Rouge era.

In one of her many hair changes in 2016, Aguilera swapped her blonde hair for a rich auburn shade, a hue that she complemented with a red lip to perform at the “Hillary Clinton: She's With Us” concert.
