Suspect charged in alleged fatal hit-and-run in Stockbridge

Berkshire County – Samantha Page, 36, of West Stockbridge, was arraigned Sept. 28 in Southern Berkshire District Court in connection with the alleged hit-and-run accident in Stockbridge.

According to Julia Sabourin, director of community engagement and communications for the Berkshire County District Attorney's Office, Paige was charged on Tuesday, October 1, in the alleged hit-and-run accident that resulted in the death of 72-year-old Franklin Ripley of Stockbridge.

Paige was charged with leaving the scene causing bodily harm and death.

Bail has been set at $7,500 and Paige is being held without the right to bail on a probation order issued by the Central Berkshire District Court in an unrelated case.

The incident remains under investigation by the Stockbridge Police Department; the State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Berkshire District Attorney's Office and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit. There could be additional charges once the investigation is complete.
